This Ginger Maple Chicken recipe deserves a drool emoji. Ginger, I love it all on its own, in so many ways, but immersed in sweet maple syrup — now that’s a treat, and it’s not even dessert!
Whether you have a whole chicken or chicken thighs, you can make it either way. Using chicken that still has the skin on is key because then it can crisp up in the pan.
To make Ginger Maple Chicken, you’ll start by sauteeing the ginger and garlic together until fragrant, then searing the chicken while drizzling the lemon juice over them. At this point, you could continue to cook it in the pan until it’s done, but that can get tricky to cook every piece to the same temperature, so many people like to finish it in the oven. To do that, you’d put the chicken in a baking dish, sprinkle salt and pepper, then drizzle with maple syrup. Bake in a 325-degree oven covered for 45 minutes or until cooked through.
I like to serve this kind of chicken with a nice fresh salad that perhaps has a bright lemon vinaigrette, but it also pairs just fine with some roasted broccoli and garlic. When my whole family is home, I will often serve it over rice and make a little extra sauce to toss with it. No matter how you pair it, I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!
