These Sweet Spiced Grilled or Baked Peaches are a delicious blend of warmth and sweetness, with a hint of spice that makes them feel a little extra special. The natural juiciness of ripe peaches pairs perfectly with a buttery, spiced coating that caramelizes just enough to create that melt-in-your-mouth texture. And the best part? You can make them on the grill for a subtle smoky touch, or bake them in the oven when you’re craving something cozy.

The flavor is rich with notes of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and a hint of cloves, which play so well against the sweetness of the peaches. Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

For Grilled Peaches:

  1. Prepare the peaches: Brush the cut sides of the peach halves with melted butter or coconut oil.
  2. Mix the spice blend: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar (or maple syrup), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Sprinkle the peaches: Coat the cut sides of the peaches with the spice blend, pressing gently to help it adhere.
  4. Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F/175°C). Place the peaches cut-side down on the grill grates. Cook for 3-5 minutes until grill marks appear and the peaches begin to caramelize.
  5. Flip and finish: Turn the peaches over and grill for another 2-3 minutes, until they’re tender but not falling apart.
  6. Serve: Top each grilled peach half with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

For Baked Peaches:

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches: Arrange the peach halves in a baking dish, cut-side up.
  3. Mix the spice blend: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar (or maple syrup), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Coat the peaches: Brush the cut sides of the peaches with melted butter or coconut oil, then sprinkle generously with the spice mixture.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the peaches are tender and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top of each peach half.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness: Drizzle a little honey over the peaches before serving.
  • Add crunch: Top with crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts like almonds or pecans.
