Ingredients

Scale
  • Dry Ingredients:
    • 1 cup almond flour
    • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Wet Ingredients:
    • 1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
    • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Add-ins:
    • 1 cup high-quality dark chocolate (chopped)
    • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    • 1/2 cup chopped cashews

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly with coconut oil.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the melted coconut oil and honey (or maple syrup) until well blended. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  4. Blend Together: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Add the Goodies: Fold in the chopped dark chocolate and mixed nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Serving Suggestions and Beverage Pairings

These healthy brownies are best enjoyed slightly warm, perhaps with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a drizzle of honey. For an extra touch of decadence, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top.
