3-Ingredient Old-Fashioned Shortbread Buttons
Sometimes the best cookies are the simplest ones. Old-fashioned shortbread cookies only need three ingredients to be buttery and delicious. If you want to spruce them up, the small indent in the center lets you add your favorite filling, like chocolate-hazelnut spread or frosting.

I got a similar recipe from a student’s mom back in the 60’s, but I’ve never since seen anything like them. Her recipe doesn’t contain the powdered sugar, but the dough is formed into balls and rolled in granulated sugar before baking. They’re delicious, and I usually fill the depression with currant jelly.
