Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces pasta (such as spaghetti or penne)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Toss the cooked pasta in the oregano-tomato sauce until well coated.
  5. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
