Candied Yams
The combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey in the sauce is especially enticing and complements the dish to perfection. I’ve even reused this sauce for other dishes, like ice cream or pumpkin pie.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 1/2 to 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Place the yams into the baking dish and set aside.
- In a medium pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until well blended. Add the cream and stir until creamy. Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey. Pour the mixture over the yams. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately, spooning the syrupy sauce over the yams.
