On a trip to London, my breakfast at The Brown’s Hotel became a highlight. While my first day featured a classic full English, Gail’s choice of baked granola with yogurt and fresh berries caught my eye. One stolen bite later, I knew my next morning’s order.

Back home, I recreated the magic—a perfectly balanced mix of crunchy oats, sweet dates, and nutty richness, baked to golden perfection. Served with a dollop of Greek yogurt and fresh berries, it’s a taste of London mornings, no passport required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Greek yogurt
  • Fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped dates, and mixed nuts.
  3. In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt until melted and well combined.
  4. Pour the honey mixture over the oat mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the granola mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and fragrant.
    Allow the granola to cool completely on the baking sheet.
  7. Serve the baked granola with a dollop of Greek yogurt and a generous handful of fresh berries.
