Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cups cubed 1/2-inch watermelon pieces
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled or cut in small cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. Stack basil leaves on top of each other and roll tightly into a log. Slice lengthwise into thin ribbons—this is called chiffonade (method of slicing basil in ribbons).
  2. Combine basil and watermelon cubes in a large bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice.
  3. Stir in feta cheese.
  4. Mix salt and chili powder together with a whisk in a small bowl; sprinkle over watermelon and basil mixture, and combine.
  5. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
