Fresh Garden Sangrita

A vibrant and refreshing sangrita made with fresh citrus, tomato, and pomegranate juices, balanced with spice and a hint of salt. Perfectly complements tequila for a traditional Mexican pairing.

While in Cabo San Lucas, my wife Gail and I discovered sangrita—a zesty, spicy tequila companion. Inspired by its bold flavors, I created this fresh homemade version to bring a taste of Mexico home.

Fresh Garden Sangrita

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tajin or chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher, combine fresh-squeezed orange juice, tomato juice, pomegranate juice, and lime juice.
  2. Add hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Tajin or chili powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Stir the mixture thoroughly, ensuring all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences, adding more hot sauce or salt if desired.
  5. Chill the sangrita in the refrigerator for at least an hour to enhance the flavors.
