Valiant grapes.

  • Seedless
  • Uses: table, juice, and jelly grape
  • Color: blue

Valiant grapes are a cold-hardy variety with a sweet, rich, tangy flavor. These grapevines produce clusters of small, blue fruits. Valiant was developed at South Dakota State University and was  bred specifically for northern growers.

Sun Exposure

  • Full sun (eight hours)

Soil pH

  • 5.5 to 6.5

Hardiness Zones

  • 3 to 8

Spacing

  • Plant 6 feet apart

Moisture

  • Keep soil moist throughout the growing season

Notes

  • Use for eating fresh, juice, preserves, wine
  • Round blue fruit
  • Very vigorous – will need regular pruning
