Super sugar snap peas.
Hardy, thick, and oh-so-sweet, Super Sugar Snap peas are the superheroes of the pea patch. Some call this pea the sweetest sugar snap ever developed! These tall plants are disease-resistant and bear twice as many pods as similar varieties. You’ll want to devour these sweet peas as soon as you pick them, but save some for the kitchen as Super Sugar Snap can be used in a variety of dishes, raw or cooked.

Spacing
- Sow 1-2 inches apart, 1/2-1 inch deep
- Plant rows 24 inches apart
- Vines grow 60 to 72 inches
- Needs a support system/trellis
Moisture
- Water deeply 1 inch a week; do not let soil dry out

A few years ago we grew both snow peas and sugar snap peas along a 30 foot fence, snow peas on the north end and sugar snaps on the south end. I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised when they cross-pollinated, but I was. It happened mostly within the few feet on either side of the mid-point. Flavor was not affected but we did get several rounded snow pea pods as well as some flat sugar snaps. Since then we’ve just grown sugar snaps.
