Blue Boy Rosemary

Blue Boy Rosemary

Blue Boy rosemary is a smaller variety, growing only to a couple of inches tall. That makes it a perfect ground cover or container plant. It has a blue flower, which is edible, and fragrant evergreen leaves.

Blue Boy is a perennial shrub that will live for multiple decades if cared for properly. It thrives in zones 8 through 10 if planted in full sun and soil with a pH level between 6.5 and 8.5 and good drainage.

Don’t give this one too much water, as it prefers near drought conditions.

Sun Exposure

  • partial to full sun (six to eight hours)

Soil pH

  • 6.5 to 8.5

Hardiness Zones

  • 8 to 10

Spacing

  • 1 to 2 feet apart

Moisture

  • 1 inch every 2 weeks

Notes

  • prefers well-drained soil
  • prostrate habit, growing 15 to 18 inches wide and up to 8 inches tall
  • avoid over-watering and over-fertilizing
  • long bloomer
