One small avocado (100 grams) has 160 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals, making it a heart-healthy choice to help meet nutrient needs.

Also, the body needs some dietary fat in moderation to help with absorption of nutrients, and good fats like those in avocados do not raise LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. Avocado is the only fruit that provides a substantial amount of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA).
