Patterson Onions

Patterson onions are great for gardens in the northeast and northern Midwest. These onions have layered, golden skin wrapped around a rich, full-flavored bulb. They may be on the small side—the bulbs are about 3 inches—but they’re packed with taste. These onions can store for nine to 12 months.

Characteristics:

  • Long day onion variety
  • Hardiness Zone: 3 to 5
  • Days to Maturity: 105 to 115
  • Pests/Diseases: rot resistant
  • Color: yellow
  • Flavor: strong, pungent
  • Uses: onion rings, soups, stews, caramelization
