Italian oregano

Italian oregano is a beloved herb renowned for its robust flavor and aromatic foliage. Perfect for culinary enthusiasts and gardeners alike, its compact growth habit makes it an ideal choice for borders or containers. Thriving in full sun, it brings both culinary flair and visual charm to your garden.

Sun exposure:

  • Full sun to partial sun

Soil pH:

  • 6.0 to 7.0

Hardiness zones:

  • USDA zones 6 to 9

Spacing:

  • Plant Italian oregano 12 to 18 inches apart, with rows spaced 18 to 24 inches apart.

Moisture:

  • Water consistently, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

Notes:

  • Italian oregano is a hybrid variety known for its aromatic leaves. It’s a hardy perennial, and it’s best to harvest the leaves before the plant flowers for the most intense flavor.
