Made the mushroom and zucchini burgers and they cooked up like mush. Not burger material. Will try again after I figure out what to do with 15 of these in the freezer
Hi Michael, veggie burgers are tricky! The zucchini in particular can be dried more by squeezing through cheesecloth after salting. If you are not vegan, you can also add an egg to bind the ingredients more into a “burger”. You might also bake them before grilling. I’ve found it to be a lot of trial and error myself and what doesn’t make it on the grill, makes a great breakfast hash!
That gave me an idea for a magic mushroom burger. GriN. I used to work at a restaurant as a prep cook. I can not tell you the name of the chain so I don’t get in trouble but adding this sauce to the burgers made it great. I even left out the burger occasionally. Saute Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, and Tomatoes chopped to about 1/4″. After simmering about 1/2 hour, serve. Enjoy
