Mexican Turkey Lettuce Wraps

- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced
- 1 (4-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 8 large iceberg lettuce leaves
- 1/4 cup light sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat Mexican-blend cheese
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey and brown for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the garlic powder, cumin, salt, chili powder, paprika, and oregano. Stir to combine and continue browning the meat. Add the onion, 3/4 cup water, and the tomato sauce and cover. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Divide the meat equally among the 8 lettuce leaves. Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each leaf and top with sour cream, cheese, avocado, tomato, and cilantro.
- Serve immediately.
