Gurney’s Seed & Nursery Company has developed a hardy rhubarb that you can keep harvesting into late summer. When other rhubarbs have finished producing, you can still turn to KangaRhu, with its brilliant red stalks and wonderful cooked flavor.

  • zones 4 to 8

Spacing

  • 3 feet apart

Moisture

  • 1 inch per week

Notes

  • cold-hardy and heat tolerant
  • produces from spring to late summer
  • deep red when cooked; doesn’t lose its color
  • prefers loamy soil
  • leaves are poisonous; eat only the stalks
