Clemson Spineless okra was named an All-America Selection (AAS) in the 1930s, and it’s been a classic choice ever since. This has been a favorite of backyard gardeners for decades. This plant can grow as tall as 6 feet, and produce pods up to 9 inches long—but you’ll want to pick them when they’re 3 to 4 inches long for optimal taste. The Clemson Spineless okra is versatile: pickle it, can it, fry it, roast, boil it, stew it, or cook it up in soup. Direct-seed in warm soil or transplant when the soil temperature is right.
