Ouachita blackberries

Ouachita is an upright and erect growing thornless blackberry bush that is known for producing large crops of firm, large, sweet berries. In fact, you might need to trellis your Ouachita blackberry when it is fruiting to keep canes from leaning over. Ouachita blackberry plants have good winter hardiness and are disease resistant.

  • Plants can be self-supporting when primocanes are tipped at 45 inches
  • Fruit quality is excellent
  • Berries are firm, sweet, and larger than Navaho and Arapaho, but smaller than Apache
  • Appears to be resistant to double blossom and no orange rust infections have been observed
