Ouachita blackberries
Ouachita is an upright and erect growing thornless blackberry bush that is known for producing large crops of firm, large, sweet berries. In fact, you might need to trellis your Ouachita blackberry when it is fruiting to keep canes from leaning over. Ouachita blackberry plants have good winter hardiness and are disease resistant.
- Plants can be self-supporting when primocanes are tipped at 45 inches
- Fruit quality is excellent
- Berries are firm, sweet, and larger than Navaho and Arapaho, but smaller than Apache
- Appears to be resistant to double blossom and no orange rust infections have been observed

I am not sure of the type of thornless Blackberries that we have but they do grow upright. This summer will be their 2nd year and we were wondering about new growth. With raspberries you cut out the old growth and the berries grow on the new growth but we not quite sure what to do with these Thornless Blackberries.
