The Eureka lemon is probably what you imagine when you think of a supermarket lemon. It’s juicy, with a sour, tart flavor—quintessential lemon. The skin is smooth and a deep yellow, and the fruit has a pronounced nipple at the end. As the tree matures, the skin of the fruit will begin to get thinner. This is a fast-growing tree that produces a prolific harvest of fruit from a young age. The Eureka is usually available in standard, semi-dwarf, and dwarf varieties, so a small tree is a great candidate for container gardening if you’re beyond the year-round outside growing zones.
