The Comice pear is considered to be the tastiest of all European pears. This pear is a dessert cultivar with a rich, buttery flavor. In the fall, expect a crop of large, greenish-yellow pears with a little bit of a red blush. Comice pears are best served as a light and refreshing sweet dessert. The Comice needs a pollination buddy such as Bartlett or Moonglow. This cultivar is moderately resistant to fire blight.
