Some tips from our community:
“I would dap the apples dry with paper towels or clean kitchen towel so it would help with the dry time when dehydrating.” – Anonymous
“In all of your bread making recipes you should specify the use of bottled water. The chlorine in my tap water kills all yeast. I never see it mentioned in published recipes.” – Anonymous
“I use our hydroponic system over the winter. I use distilled or very pure reverse osmosis water from our well to prevent the minerals from offsetting the fertilizer. Our reverse osmosis system was set up by Culligan, with a whole house pre filter down to about 0.5 micron filtration but does nothing for the hardness.” – Anonymous

It says there is a new 2026 Raised bed garden kit on the cover of the January 2026 magazine. However it is only the 2025 version. How can I get the 2026 version. I added 2 more years, so I am good until 2029. I want this 2026 version.

Oh for gosh sakes, use bottled water for significant recipes. I can’t even use tap water for my morning tea due to the heavy chlorine in our water, it changes the taste and I can well imagine that yes, it can deactivate yeast!
