There’s something magical about a garden—it’s more than just soil, seeds, and sunlight. It’s a living, breathing tapestry of memories, wisdom, and a few stubborn weeds that refuse to be tamed. Gardening, after all, is one of those timeless traditions passed down from generation to generation, a quiet legacy cultivated in the dirt beneath our fingernails.
For me, growing up with parents and siblings who were all much older meant that my childhood was filled with both love and the occasional need for a quiet escape. The garden often became my refuge—a place to daydream, explore, and eventually learn the skills that I would later pass down to my own sons. And one day, if I’m lucky enough to have grandchildren in my life, they too will inherit whatever bits of knowledge, humor, and gardening wisdom I can offer.
