What is the difference between male and female flowers?

    Reply
  • Valerie B. April 29, 2024

Is it true that if you pick the zuke flowers (and fry them) you won’t have a bountiful harvest of zukes?

The female flowers ARE the baby zucchinis, so any that you pull won’t become zucchinis, that’s true. However, it’s recommended, actually, to pluck some male flowers so there are more females. You can identify the males by their long, thin stem, with a stamen in the middle which has pollen. They often grow in clusters.
