In the depth of the Winter, here’s what I’m doing!
I know it’s the middle of Winter—and it can be cold and snowy in many areas. And this is often the time of year when many people are just “done” with Winter. I even have friends who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Fortunately I don’t suffer that. I, in fact, love Winter—and all the changing seasons Mother Nature gives us.
Well, maybe not late March—when it tends to still be cold and dreary, and some days tease us with the coming Spring. I don’t much care for that. But I’m certainly happy to be snowbound in a storm with some good books to read and a roaring fire, not to mention that glass of red wine. That’s what February can be for me in New England. And I’m just fine with that.
I think it’s something about my New-England upbringing that tells me it’s supposed to be cold and snowy in February. But try telling that to my Florida friends!
Winter is also the time of year I spend finalizing my Spring garden plans—and reading and re-reading back issues of GreenPrints. Along with the current issue, back issues of GreenPrints continue to inspire and delight me—and there’s nothing wrong with reading them again. Like rewatching an old movie or listening to your favorite song again or reading a book once more—after years have passed, you can have a very different perspective!
The February 2024 GreenPrints issue is here for you to read, and—since I’ve had the great luck to read it already—I know you’ll find it funny, inspiring, and heartfelt. I’ll let the issue speak for itself. Read and enjoy it, and listen to the stories that have been recorded for you by Pat and Becky Stone.
And then tell me what you think. I’d truly love to hear from you.
