As the morning sun peeked through the curtains of our cozy room at The Brown’s Hotel, London’s oldest gem, my stomach rumbled in anticipation of another day of exploration. Gail and I had decided to start our day with breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, and while I had indulged in the full English breakfast on our first day, Gail’s choice of the lighter fare caught my eye.
Day one saw her relishing in the simplicity of baked granola served with creamy yogurt and a vibrant medley of fresh berries. Those plump blueberries, succulent strawberries, and juicy blackberries seemed to beckon me from across the table. Sneaking a spoonful from her bowl, I instantly knew I had found my breakfast for day two.
The next morning, I savored every bite of the fresh baked granola, letting the crunchy oats, sweet dates, and nutty flavors dance on my palate. Paired with a steaming cup of coffee and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, it was the perfect start to a day of London adventures.
Curiosity piqued, I struck up a conversation with the friendly staff about the ingredients in their signature granola. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, I set out to recreate the magic of The Brown’s Hotel breakfast in my own kitchen.
