Once upon a sun-kissed Summer, in our family kitchen, my father, a culinary maestro, unveiled his masterpiece–a dessert that embodied the essence of the season. With fresh strawberries straight from our strawberry patch and a dollop of culinary magic, he crafted a dish that would leave an indelible mark on our taste buds.

A simple yet elegant summer dessert featuring ripe strawberries topped with a luscious honey-sweetened whipped cream. Light, refreshing, and perfect for warm-weather gatherings.

  • Author: Don Nicholas
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings
  • Category: Desserts

Ingredients

  • For the Strawberries:
    • 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
    • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, finely chopped (for garnish)
  • For the Honey Cream:
    • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
    • 1/4 cup local honey (plus extra for drizzling)
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberries:
    1. Gently wash and hull the strawberries.
    2. Slice them into bite-sized pieces and arrange them in six delightful dessert bowls.
    3. Whip up the Honey Cream:
    4. In a chilled mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream.
    5. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
    6. Gradually add the honey and continue whipping until it reaches a luscious, creamy consistency.
    7. Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and gently fold it into the whipped cream.
  • Assemble the Individual Delights:
    1. Spoon generous dollops of the honey cream over the bed of fresh strawberries in each dessert bowl.
    2. Drizzle a bit of extra honey on top for that golden touch.
    3. Garnish each serving with finely chopped mint leaves.
  • Serve and Savor:
    1. Bring the dessert bowls to the table and watch as smiles light up faces.
    2. Encourage everyone to dig into their individual symphony of flavors–the sweetness of strawberries harmonizing with the richness of honey cream.

And so, our charming Summer dessert became a tradition, a sweet ode to family gatherings, laughter, and the taste of sunshine. A dessert so delightful, it whispered the promise of Summer in every bite, making it the perfect finale to any warm-weather feast.
