Ingredients
Scale
4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
Pinch of salt
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
For Grilled Peaches:
Prepare the peaches: Brush the cut sides of the peach halves with melted butter or coconut oil.
Mix the spice blend: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar (or maple syrup), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and a pinch of salt.
Sprinkle the peaches: Coat the cut sides of the peaches with the spice blend, pressing gently to help it adhere.
Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F/175°C). Place the peaches cut-side down on the grill grates. Cook for 3-5 minutes until grill marks appear and the peaches begin to caramelize.
Flip and finish: Turn the peaches over and grill for another 2-3 minutes, until they’re tender but not falling apart.
Serve: Top each grilled peach half with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
For Baked Peaches:
Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the peaches: Arrange the peach halves in a baking dish, cut-side up.
Mix the spice blend: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar (or maple syrup), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and a pinch of salt.
Coat the peaches: Brush the cut sides of the peaches with melted butter or coconut oil, then sprinkle generously with the spice mixture.
Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the peaches are tender and bubbly.
Serve: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top of each peach half.
Notes
For extra sweetness: Drizzle a little honey over the peaches before serving.
Add crunch: Top with crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts like almonds or pecans.
