Ingredients
Scale
1 1/4 cups sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (16-ounce) container whipped chocolate frosting
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line an 8 x 8-inch pan with parchment paper or coat with cooking spray.
Place the sugar and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until the butter is melted, about 1 minute. Stir in the cocoa and oil. Let cool for about 5 minutes, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined, then stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top looks set and a knife inserted into the center has moist crumbs attached. Do not overcook. Let cool completely. Spread the frosting over the top. Serve.
