1/2 cup popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot with a lid, heat the olive oil or vegetable oil over medium heat.
Add the popcorn kernels to the pot and cover with the lid. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent the kernels from burning.
Once the popping slows down to about 1-2 seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat and carefully pour the popcorn into a large bowl.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Drizzle the butter over the popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
In a small bowl, mix together the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Sprinkle the Garlic-Parmesan mixture over the popcorn and toss again to distribute the seasoning evenly.
Serve the Garlic Parmesan Popcorn immediately while it’s still warm.
Notes
If you prefer a lighter version, use less butter or replace some of the butter with olive oil.
