1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries, halved
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with a hand mixer on medium-high speed until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
Mix in the orange zest and orange juice.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold the flour mixture into the orange mixture.
Stir in the cranberries and hazelnuts.
Using a cookie scoop, shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
